Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
Dear Person Reading My Review,
This book has been compared to the Twilight Series a bunch of times, however I don't think it deserves that kind of mind set. I can compare it to the other series but I refuse to, how can it be its own series if we keep thinking its exactly the same? So in my review I am only reviewing this book, not how it relates to the Twilight Saga.
I really liked this book, even if the cover looks like a book my mom would read (Fabio should come to mind), but the inside tells a whole different story. I really liked how the main character didn't deal with any of the crap that Daemon threw at her. Like if someone was like that to me I would definitely kick his butt! She is strong for a type of character that she is portrayed to be. Some people call this a type of abusive relationship, but I will point this out, she has stormed off and said mean things back to him. Never once has she just stood there like a moron accepting his rudeness. AND she also calls him out and tells him he is being a huge douche. I really like the chemistry between the characters and I love how she is not just attached to him, she is BEST FRIENDS with his sister so I give her more credit than others have. The only reason why she drove out to the woods was to save Daemons sister. She technically saved all of them. So I appreciate her spunk and honor and courage. This, is my hones review.
