The DUFF (designated, ugly, fat, friend)
So recently I had been stopping into library at my school and searching for good books. What is amazing is that no one really thinks about the library when they think of school. They all just groan at getting up early and facing annoying people and coming home with dreaded homework. When I think about school I picture friends, my crush, my secret crush that no one knows about, and a haunted house. Since I am in art club, we are creating a Haunted House with Urban Legends. I crawl out from under a table and try to drag myself across the floor toward the people walking through. But with all this craziness about, I had been struggling to read anymore books, however I did manage to read The Duff. I have been really getting into contemporary novels lately so when I picked up The Duff, it was true love at first sight. The plot was so great that I had to read it every chance I got. I finished it under two days, work, school, and art club in all. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who feels like an outsider or who doesn't feel like they belong, it is a great self-esteem booster and is quite witty and graceful. Also, the fact that an eighteen year old wrote the story inspired me. I have always wanted to be a writer, so it truly spoke to me. I feel as though I have the drive to start writing again. But, yes a wonderful book and got my eyes tearing up from comedy and romance, truly aw inspiring.
